What the Client Needed:

New Japanese gastronomy joint in Richmond seeking to be branded with a Chinese word of ” 德 ” (de2) meaning the virtuous, as derived from the owner’s father’s name.

My Approach:

Chinese character in the style of Japanese calligraphy. Flow, balance, and elegance are the key essences I strived for with this work. The colourful variations of this character may be used seasonally to upkeep a fresh look, in accordance to the owner’s aspiration to entertain the community with oriental fare and live performers.
